In the June 20^th 2018 edition of Sound & Communications Magazine, PCD was honored to be highlighted for our work at Harker School and Rothschild Performing Arts Center. The article showcases the ways that Rothschild Performing Arts Center rivals world-class venues thanks to its gorgeous construction and cutting edge use of audiovisual technology. Guests were treated to beautiful images displayed on the large videowalls throughout the facility.

Harker School is well-known as one of Silicon Valley’s STEM powerhouses, turning out some of the area’s best and brightest in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. However, there is equal talent amongst the artistic student body, and the Rothschild Center proudly displays that talent and gives it a space to shine. The theater is 450 seats but maintains an intimate feel, perfect for a variety of performances. Having a hand in creating this unique space has been one of the most dynamic and challenging jobs PCD has completed to date, and the end result is well worth it.

The work in the lobby area of RPAC took three or four months to complete, but the overall scope of the project and planning took about a year and a half. Timeline and schedule for a project of this size is always a challenge, but we also had to consider adjustments for the lobby’s videowall to get the correct framing. Working with a new construction gives us more freedom to do what we need. We routinely take on Performing Arts Center projects in the Bay Area, and this one was a true joy to work with.

To create the right audiovisuals for the space, we worked with some of our favorite brands and products, including Extron, Cisco, OPPO, Apple TV, Middle Atlantic, Yamaha, and more. The space is equipped for both performances and lectures, allowing anyone to present from a laptop, whether professor or student. It’s a totally dynamic space and we’re looking forward to see it being used for years to come.
