San Rafael and Piner High Schools

San-Rafael-and-Piner-High-Schools-new-512x300

San Rafael and Piner High Schools have recently undergone stadium revitalization projects on each campus funded by local tax bond Measures A & B. Construction crews completed minor demolition at each site and installed new all-weather turf, track, bleachers, lighting, and sound systems.

San Rafael’s stadium, which is projected to cost $9.6 million, was funded by bond measures totaling $161 million approved by voters in November 2015. Piner’s stadium was approved in turn through a $175 million tax bond in 2016, and is projected to cost $1.8 million.

The sound system installations at both stadiums included pole-mounted speakers on both the visitor and home bleacher sides, portable sound control consoles for the field house, mixers, amplifiers, a digital signal processor (DSP), Middle Atlantic racks, and wireless microphones.

With both schools located in residential areas, there was substantial focus on optimizing sound while not overwhelming neighboring homes. Aiming of the speakers and programming of the Digital Sound Processor was judiciously managed by PCD engineers and executed by our technicians to achieve ideal sound quality and balance throughout the stadium.

With the help of PCD, two northern California high school campus now have cutting edge sound systems to serve their schools and the local community as a whole for years to come.
