PCD has built a reputation of supporting education and theater arts throughout northern California with the installation of high definition Audio/Visual systems. With every project, our team creates a system that works for the end user’s space and needs.

PCD is proud to have worked on the B Street Theater in Sacramento, which was recently the cover story feature in the Nor Cal VDV magazine’s October 2019 issue.

 

 

After nearly 30 years of performing in a modest-sized warehouse in east Sacramento, B Street Theater wanted to relocate to the Sutter District of Sacramento along with The Sofia Tsakopoulos Center for the Arts. PCD was presented with a very tight time frame to meet both their Construction schedule and their previously advertised Performance schedule. PCD’s field staff were able to get the theaters operational for evening performances while still completing construction during the day.

B Street Theater includes a 270-seat Thrust Theater, a 365-seat Main Proscenium Theater, three rehearsal rooms, two conference rooms, and digital signage in the Lobby. Each theater is equipped with a 64-channel mixing console, sound reinforcement systems, wireless microphone and program paging systems, and digital signal processing (DSP). Installations in the Lobby include 64” digital signage, a late arrival live video system and overhead speakers.

The entire project team at B Street Theater included General Contractor MarketOne Builders, acoustician Charles Salter Associates, Theater and AV Consultant The Shalleck Collaborative, and Meyer Sound Laboratories who designed the sound reinforcement system.

Upon completion of the project, PCD received rave reviews from B Street for the work and dedication of our field staff to their end goal of creating a performance venue that far surpasses the sound quality initially imagined.
